Youth
Youth Overview
We believe youth development work is the most effective way to achieve policy objectives while building leadership and critical thinking skills among a new generation of advocates. Our goals are to develop youth as leaders, to help youth leaders make informed choices for themselves while influencing other youth and adults, and to engage youth in making accomplishments toward our policy objectives.
ICAH recruits, trains, and supports young leaders to create social change around adolescent sexual health and parenting. Develop your leadership and advocacy skills and gain knowledge about social justice.
Get trained. Become a leader. Make a difference.
We provide youth activists with the following:
- Dedicated staff
- Tailored trainings and workshops
- Professional guidance and support
- Accessible resources and information
- Service-learning hours
- Meals and snacks
- Transit cards
Youth Development
We use a three-tiered youth development structure:
- Youth activists receive an introduction to ICAH priorities and sexual health initiatives, establishing a baseline to track youth progress.
- Youth leaders create, implement, and lead projects focused on sexual and reproductive health issues with support and technical assistance from ICAH staff.
- Youth organizers lead trainings, workshops, and action events using the knowledge and skills acquired in the previous tiers.
